Childrens Heart Disease…

Won the ENDORSEMENT of National Taxpayers United of Illinois……
I pledge to protect Illinois Taxpayers in opposing any and all efforts to increase Illinois taxes….
The act of abortion is just not the death of life it is also about the violation of a woman’s womb, the single most powerful difference that separates women from men. In all things women have equal choice and in all things women and men should always choose to preserve life in those who have lived long lives and in those who lives are just beginning. A woman who chooses life chooses power for herself and others. Lets choose to support women and the future of great Americans yet to come!
Deb is a patriot!
Justice for all America is essential. When you take the greatness of this nations Freedoms, you leave it’s people complacent and unwilling to defend it. Preserve it’s peoples Freedoms, Rights and Liberties and you empower a nation by winning it’s Loyalty….
We must all work together for a better tomorrow
Freedom is not a free waiver that cloaks those wanting to strip Americans of christianity and their civil liberties..
Creating a…… 28th Amendment:
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .

When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
–Thomas Jefferson
On this anniversary of 9/11
On this day let us not forget that protection of Freedom and Liberty and Justice for all does not come cheap or easily. Our struggles though they vary are struggles just the same. May this day inspire all of you to reflect, to step forward, to volunteer, to serve others, and to share your leadership skills in moving this State and this Nation as the humanitarian model for all countries around the world.
Vote Deb!
1995, shortly after returning from volunteering along the Mexican American border, I took a short interim assignment as the Principal and was happy to support in the March Against Violence.

I promise,
to support the unborn, women, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, workers rights, lower taxes, smaller government control over our lives..I believe in God, family and hard work. I love America and its diversity. This is not my first run for office. It is my third. I continue to believe in this country and the freedoms our founding fathers fought to obtain. It is my core belief that protecting these freedoms is the responsibility of all Americans and we must step up to the plate to ensure its future. We are heading in a new direction in Illinois. The people of this great State want to see results, they want the job done and they want to see their taxes working. We demand accountability and concrete, visible outcomes. Issues of unemployment, education, domestic violence, fatherless homes, abortions, and foreclosures are tearing at the fabric of our society. Today, we say stop, we want fiscal transparency and adherence to the protection of freedoms promised by the Constitution. I’m running because I love my State, my Country and with God by my side I’ll work hard for you!
About me:
My mother was born in a small Texas town during the depression. She suffered many hardships as a child and schooling had to take a back seat to survival. She followed her older brother and began working out in the fields following the crops and driving across this great land. Her travels brought her to Chicago, where she hoped for something more. It was here in Chicago where she met Carmelo, they married and raised 7 children. My dad was from Puerto Rico, he worked the sugar cane fields to help his parents. He came from humble beginnings and after graduating from high school moved to Chicago. Together they worked to purchase their own home. My mom opened a record shop while she attended beauty school and 4 years later she closed the record shop to open a Beauty shop in Lincoln Park. Dad went to train with the Chicago Transit Authority and drove the Western and Lincoln Avenue bus till he retired 30 years later. My parents are both alive and retired. I love them both very much and am proud of the hard work ethic they instilled in me. I started working at age 14 part time. I would work 20-30 hours a week all through college, law school which I did not finish and graduate school where I received my MA.ED. I worked right up to two hours before my first child was born at age 37 and then I had to make a hard and difficult choice. My daughter was born missing parts of her heart and the parts that were there were not in the proper places in need of repairs but somehow functioning. Being a single mom I knew I had to work but I also knew at age 37 , my first child needed me while she underwent the first of many stays in the Children’s hospital. I opted to be at her side and hope that somehow God would sustain us as we tackled this heart disease together. I suffered a sweeping financial loss including and was left to seek federal assistance. It has been almost 12 years and my lovely daughter who I was told would not survive is turning 12 this fall. My experience has made me a strong advocate for struggling families and children with disabilities.Years ago, I was invited to speak at the Welfare Reform Conference which was held here in Chicago. I spoke to department heads and members of the private industry council and expressed that the face of welfare had changed and that the economy and hard times call for a lower threshold in time of need. I learned that after working for over 30 years and paying high taxes here in Illinois, that when I needed it most, I had to fight for pennies on the dollar. Illinois families should not have to lose everything to seek back the services we have paid for throughout our lifetime. I will fight to re-evaluate the family assistance programs, fight for the social security disability process and form a committee to help resolve the back log for applicants. I want to create a working template that other states will seek to emulate.
“Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that.” -Norman Vincent Peale
When I’m in Springfield I will look for real solutions in real time to help those struggling families in Illinois because I’ve been there , I’ve done that.
With God’s help together we will bring about real change for the people of Illinois.

On President Obama:
What little expectations we have of our politicians when we have to look for the good that has been accomplished since they take office. I not only expect him as the President to do good I demand it as an American. Whether we voted for Pres. Obama or not. The focus now should be what is best for all America, that America becomes stronger, better, safer and ready to lead on the global stage.
